This is an 1 hour 22 minute Interview with Gary Poole about his life growing up on Alasa Farms. Sandi Hamilton and Jim Hopkins conducted the interview on June 3, 2019.

During this 82 minute interview, Gary Poole talks about the following:

  • Growing up on Alasa Farm. His father, Merle Poole, was a manager of the farm

  • Shares stories about this farm in the 1950s and 1960s

  • At that time the farm was owned by Mr. and Mrs. Strong of Rochester who spent summers at the farm

  • The farm is described as a “show place” with expensive livestock

  • Ted Grosz was also a manager there

  • Pete Seeger was the general handyman

  • He describes the buildings and equipment
