Doris M. Sims was an important person in the history of Sodus.
She broke the gender barrier by becoming the first attorney in Sodus in October 1926. Recently, Bette Bugni shared an article by John B. Nesbitt in the New York State Bar Journal May 1989 which told the interesting story of this remarkable lady (you can use the + and – keys to zoom in and out): Doris M. Sims article
Future generations are also in her debt because she documented much of the early history of Sodus: https://townofsodushistoricalsociety.org/villages/sodus/early-history-of-sodus-1809-1900s-page/
To this day, Doris is fondly remembered by friends and clients alike.
