Atlas of Wayne County 1874 by Beers shows Smith/Richardson/Colvin house at this site.

Also shown  as a dwelling on the Sanborn 1889 map

Carrie Richardson Colvin gives it to the library in her will in 1956

It opens 1958.

7/7/1991 it has a fire

It reopens 2/1992
